The Hodgepodge Hat Contest is all about recycling trash while creating something one of your dolls can wear. This isn’t a photography contest, but a contest in who can create a useful, elegant or unusual hat for their doll. Just like the Decorate the Dress Contest, entries must show “before and after” photographs to demonstrate the repurposed items to be used in creating their hat.
What types of items could you use? A cereal or pre-packaged food box can be cut into a hat brim. A Keurig K-cup for coffee would work for the top of the hat. Don’t toss out the spice bottle. The cap might make a good hat. Use your imagination!
Contest Rules
UPDATE: The Hodgepodge Hat Contest begins Monday, June 17, 2011 and ends at midnight (Eastern Standard Time) on Sunday, July 31, 2011.
UPDATE: Male fashion dolls are invited to participate in the contest as well as the female dolls. The height requirements still apply.

- KerriaRosette, as the contest host, reserves the right to disqualify a doll if it does not meet the requirements of the contest.

Photographs
- “Before and after” pictures are required and can be uploaded to the Flickr group, Hodgepodge Hat Contest.

- Give your hat a name in your “before and after” photos

Can you have more than one entry? how many if so?
Also would you consider hosting entries on the site here if people wanted to sell their entries? Or make more of the same? Just a thought.
The contest rules are for two entries per person. As for selling your entries, you can add a note to your entry when you upload it onto the Flickr group. If you like, after the contest, I can publicize what you decide to sell.
Sounds like fun! I think I might try and enter!
I’m surprised the prizes are ebay gift certificates and not gift certificates to your shop, or something hand made from you?
I had thought about that, but because people can use so many different types of dolls, I thought an eBay gift certificate would give winners a wider variety of items to chose from. I had looked into Etsy gift certificates, but they don’t offer them right now.
Just to make sure, we have to use AT LEAST 2 recycled items? As in we can use more if we want to?
Yes, you have to use at least two recycled items per hat, but you can use more than that if you would like.
hello sorry for this stupid questions, but can taeyang join? and there is no to thread and needle?
Absolutely! Taeyang can join in the contest.! No need to sew anything, if you don’t want to. Just be sure to take “before and after” photos so we can see what you recycled.
