A couple of months ago, I ordered two tiny ball-jointed dolls from Latidoll, and they finally arrived! These tiny girls are sisters who haven’t yet been named. If you have any ideas for names, please share.

After a week of visiting my parents, I was able to spend some time this week working on a new dress pattern and the corset pattern I created for the Selfish Queen doll in my prior post. I found some lovely grayish black cotton and designed the dress to be strapless with a drop waistline. Then using varieties of lace, I layered the dress a bit with a peplum (overskirt) and a faux leather corset. I also created arm warmers that are trimmed in black lace and are topped with little puffs of fabric.

What I particularly like about the corset is that it doesn’t need to be laced each time it is put on the doll. It is permanently tied in the front. It is sometimes such a fuss to tie ribbon and get it to look just right. Instead of having to tie the ribbon each time the corset is worn, hook and loop tape closes the corset at the back.

The Selfish Queen’s Outfit is Complete!

Although a bit of a challenge, this outfit has turned out beautifully, if I don’t say so myself! The Selfish Queen stock outfit has been re-created as a custom order to be reserved on Etsy. The corset is my favorite part! My mind is already reeling with ideas for future uses of the corset pattern from wench and Goth dresses to fairy and romantic dresses.

As you can see, in addition to the crown, the basic dress and the choker I posted yesterday, I have added the corset, stockings and arm warmers to complete the outfit. Although the corset is laced up on the front, it actually closes at the back with hook and loop tape, so it doesn’t need to be tied each time it is put on the doll. The arm warmers are made from a black knit fabric and have openings for the doll’s thumbs.

Selfish Queen Dress and Crown

Things have been hectic the past two weeks leaving me with the inability to sew while the house was taken over by contractors installing central heating and air conditioning in our old home. I had to protect my fabrics and supplies from all the dust and dirt that seemed to settle everywhere in our house. After two weeks of waiting for the installation to be completed, I have now returned to working on the Selfish Queen’s outfit – a commissioned set that will be going to Canada upon completion.

So far, the dress is finished except for a quick rinse and some fabric softener. The crown and choker are also finished. I can see why the Selfish Queen is so expensive to purchase, as this has been quite a time-consuming project. Next will be the corset, stockings and arm warmers. Recreating the Selfish Queen’s Stock

A loyal Etsy customer has asked me to recreate the Pullip Doll Selfish Queen stock outfit for her, and this is a trial run of the pattern I created. The sample bodice pictured is made of a fairly stiff and heavy cotton, but the final dress will be made from a lighter weight cotton. The actual doll is being sold by a Japanese company called My Anime Shelf for 60900 Yen (more than $750 US dollars). I hope to have the entire outfit completed within the next week or so. MORE OUTFITS FOR DAL AND BYUL DOLLS

With summer just around the corner, I couldn’t resist creating a play set for Dal or Byul dolls. It features denim shorts and a cotton top that closes in the back with hook and loop tape. With a little bit of the purple flowered fabric left over, I was able to also create a little summer dress with white cotton trim. I will be listing these outfits on Etsy shortly.

Little Pullips Get a New Home

I had a half-completed doll house kit stored for a few years that I thought I would take out and finish. Once I had realized that the Little Pullips with their new 11cm Obitsu bodies worked well with the one-inch scale furniture, I just couldn’t resist. Although the house isn’t completely decorated yet, I had to show the two girls I have what was in store for them. Here are some photos of them being shown the house for the first time.

The girls were very surprised at their new play house, especially Anja, who was excited to see that the rooms had beautiful lights and furniture. I told them that they would soon be able to help pick out artwork to hang on the walls once I have more time to work on their house. They were so excited!

Anja couldn’t wait to see what was upstairs in the house. She led the way, and they were very surprised!

“It’s beautiful!” Anja said. She was so excited that she had tiny tears in her eyes! The little bedroom had a sewing machine (thank you, AiClay!), a rocking chair, a beautiful bed, toys and much more.

The girls were squealing, “I could play here all day!” They were trying out all the toys, each of the chairs and even the bed. Anja pulled her shoes and socks off and enjoyed the comfortable little bed.

“Could we please live here forever?” Anja was pleading to stay.

The girls were so happy to have such a beautiful surprise. They made themselves quite comfortable and are looking forward to many wonderful moments in their new little house.

Here is a sneak peek at a few outfits that will go on sale in April. Pippi is showing them off a bit, even though she prefers wearing jeans and sneakers. The white dresses fit Pullip dolls, the white dresses with blue and yellow aprons are for Blythe dolls, and all of the violet dresses are for Dal or Byul dolls. With a lot more fabric waiting for inspiration, check back often to see what I’m sewing next!
