Fisherman’s Cottage

The Fisherman’s Cottage with its adjacent pond was created completely by hand and not using a doll house kit. The half-inch scale cottage took about a month to make, which I had done in 2007. The exterior of the house is accented with wood-burned features on the doors and window frames. Items I found in the wild were used to surround the pond to make it look like a little fantasy land.

Inside the house is a small bedroom upstairs and small living area with a wood-burned fireplace mantel. The sink is made from a seashell, and the floorboards are coffee stirs stained with watered down brown and black acrylic paint. This house is wired to light each room as well as the “lamp post” found next to the dock.
